Trespa (Laminate Door) Gym Locker Installation

Storage equipment manufacturer EZR Shelving has recently supplied an exclusive private gymnasium with Trespa solid grade laminate door lockers and matching bench seating.

With a focus on aesthetics and high quality construction, laminate door lockers were selected as the perfect storage solution for this client. These locker doors feature an oak finish that is in keeping with the style of the gym but there are many different colour options that can be specified to match or co-ordinate with existing décor. The Trespa laminated construction provides a high quality finish and because the doors are scratch, heat and moisture resistant, they are perfect for tough applications like changing rooms and sports centres.

Every changing room has a different layout but they all require some form of seating for their users. This project included bench seating that ran alongside the storage lockers.

The photograph left shows the benches in position just under the lower door of each locker. This special half-height Trespa door actually gives access to a full sized locker, half of which is hidden below the bench. By using this configuration there is no need for a locker stand to raise the units off of the floor. This saves valuable space and the upper locker tier remains within easy reach.

The laminated doors were engraved with individual numbers to clearly label each storage location. Black digits contrasting against the wooden finish make this method of locker numbering attractive and easy to read. Engraving is a more durable option than using traditional number discs, they are essentially vandal proof and also meets important DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) requirements for people with impaired vision.

Swivel latch locks were fitted to the Trespa doors so that gym users could provide there own padlock - preventing the common issue of lost keys!

4 tier laminate door lockers were used within the gym area to provide a number of more conveniently located storage locations. The image shown (top) shows how the perfectly fitting units were recessed into an alcove, creating a flush wall of lockers.
